Samia joined the Foundation in 2016. She has worked for over two decades developing, implementing and evaluating educational and community development projects with refugee and other communities. Focused primarily on the Middle East, Samia’s diverse experience has been gained with a number of local and international NGOs, charitable foundations, the UN, and other international agencies. Samia has been volunteering with the John Aves Education Project since 2011.
Ita joined Horizon in February 2018. Until July 2024, she was the Scholar Liaison Manager and now works for Horizon on a consultancy basis. Ita has over twenty years’ experience of Middle East focused scholarship management. She speaks Arabic and has an MA in Palestine Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies. In her spare time, Ita promotes awareness on Palestine in South London.
