Samia joined the Foundation in October 2016. She has worked for over two decades developing, implementing and evaluating educational and community development projects with refugee and other communities. Focused primarily on the Middle East, Samia’s diverse experience has been gained with a number of local and international NGOs, charitable foundations, the UN, and other international agencies. She volunteers with the John Aves Education Project.
Ita joined the Horizon team in February 2018. She has over twenty years’ experience of Middle East focused scholarship management. Ita has also acted as a regional assessor for the Chevening scholarships scheme. She studied Arabic at the School of Oriental and African Studies and the University of Westminster and has an MA in Palestine Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies. In her spare time, she volunteers with local elderly and refugee communities.
Julia has worked on refugee response programmes in Jordan and volunteered for a refugee charity in London. She supports the Foundation with key communication functions such as the newsletter, the website as well as the development of resources for the scholars.
